Where are we going?
A brilliant map can be viewed on this site that Lee has organised. It shows you where the venue is and all the surrounding B & B’s, local taxi firms, train stations and should provide you with everything you need including directions to print off. There is plenty of parking at Ravenswood if you are travelling by car.
Where to stay?
We believe all the rooms at Ravenswood have now been taken but please feel free to ring them and ask. We prioritised immediate family and the wedding party. If you are unable to get into the Ravenswood, Lee has put a selection of other local hotels and B & B’s on the map. If they have been recommended you will see this information on the map. Please note, we have not reserved any rooms at these places so it may be a good idea to call soon. The Cat Inn has rooms which is where we are eating on Friday night and it is a lovely place, similar prices to Ravenswood. A few more B&Bs which I don't think are on the map are: The Croft, Dens Cottage, Danewood Cottage & The Mount.
Eat, Drink and Dance?
The whole day is being held at Ravenswood as it is such a beautiful venue. The wedding ceremony is at Ravenswood at 2pm. The doors will open at 1.30pm so if your not staying at Ravenswood they ask that people don’t get there too early as you will just be left to stand outside. The evening party will starts at 7.30pm with our first dance around 8.30pm.

Please make sure you remind us on your RSVP if you have any special dietary requirements. The main course is a chicken dish and the vegetarian option is a basket of Mediterranean vegetables so please advise us if you require a vegetarian option. Please also let us know if you have any other special requests. Please also note that there are several ponds in the grounds of the Ravenswood so please make sure any children are supervised while playing outside.
What to Throw?
Lee will love being covered in confetti but please note that Ravenswood stipulate that they will only allow dried petals, not paper confetti. Thank you. We will supply Rose Petals on the day to be thrown over us which will be handed out by the bridesmaids so please don't miss your chance!
How to get Home?
If you are not staying at the Ravenswood then we have been advised that it can take a few hours to get a taxi at the end of the night so it is best to order a taxi well in advance. The party ends at midnight so we suggest you order taxis prior to the day. Click here for taxi numbers.
What to give the happy couple?
Having you all at our wonderful wedding party is a gift in itself but we realise that you may want to get us something to help us start off married life together. We have been together for over six years so we are lucky enough to have most things we need. However we have completed a gift list at John Lewis and managed to find some nice things we would like. John Lewis Gift list There are a few expensive items on there that we thought family members would like to join together to get us. Vouchers can be bought from John Lewis as we do already have most things we want.
Honeymoon
We are heading off to Disney World, Orlando. We will be staying at the Animal Kingdom in Disney World for the first two weeks and then off to the Hard Rock Hotel in Universal Studios. This is a real treat and will be a holiday of a lifetime, we can’t wait!!!!
What to do the day before and after?
Please let us know when you plan to arrive as we would love to see you the day before the wedding if you plan to come down. Claire will be staying at Ravenswood on the Friday evening and as they are mainly a wedding venue the restaurant will be closed and they do have another wedding this day. However, we have booked the Cat Inn for the Friday evening for food and drink. Please advise us if you intend to eat with us on the Friday evening so we can confirm numbers with the pub. A set menu has been organised for us due to the number of people staying on the Friday. The set menu is two courses and £20 per head. There is a meat option and a vegetarian one and two choices of dessert. However, if you really don't like either choice I am sure they will be able to cater for you from the normal menu. We have organised an 8 seater taxi to pick guests up from Ravenswood at around 5.45pm and it will do as many trips as needed (for people waiting at 5.45pm) to get everyone to the pub. The same taxi will then pick us up from the pub at around 10.45pm. If you want to make your own way there or back then please sort out your own transport.
Also on the Sunday after the wedding we have booked the Cat Inn for Sunday lunch for anyone wishing to stay. I will advise the taxi company of this as a warning in advance for bookings but guests will need to organise their own transport to the pub and then from the pub to the train station.
